About Our Therapist, Elizabeth Dodd, LMBT
At the age of 18, Elizabeth went blind due to a condition called Pseudotumor Cerebri. Although she lost her sight, she never lost her drive and willingness to help others. Even before she lost her sight, Elizabeth always had a gift of a comforting touch, and great massage. In fact, her family and husband always said she should go to school for massage therapy. After seeing her husband benefit from massage therapy after a neck surgery, Elizabeth knew it was time to pursue her passion. She enrolled in the Therapeutic Massage program at Carteret Community College with honors, and named “Best Overall Therapist” by her instructors and dubbed the “Find & Fixer™! Since going to school, Elizabeth trained with Dr. Kirk, a well-known medical massage practitioner and a Doctor of Osteopathy. She has trained in many disciplines such as Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish, Reflexology, Hot Stone, Chair Massage, Frozen Shoulder, Thoracic Release, Sciatica, Psoas Release, Cupping, and many more. While being blind presents challenges, it also has many benefits. Her heightened sense of touch allows her to identify and treat muscle issues she finds.
